The Colonel Hill English School, Bangalore came into existence in 1964. It is a "Recognised, Private, Unaided, Educational Institution” run by The Friend-in-Need Society, recognized under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act.
The aim of the school is to impart a holistic education which would result in the mental, physical and moral growth of our students. The school endeavours to inspire its students towards moral integrity and character development, giving them resources that will endure throughout life. The foundation laid here and training provided ensures that every "Colonelite" will prove his usefulness to the society, living a life which reflects the school motto. "Through Determination To Success".
Admission is given to boys and girls irrespective of caste, community or religion. Classes are conducted in well ventilated and spacious classrooms. The School is located in the premises of the Home for the Aged run by the Bangalore Friend-in-Need Society.
The medium of instruction is English. The School academic year is from June to April. Pupils are prepared for the S.S.L.C. (Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examinations) conducted by KSEB (Karnataka Secondary Education Board).
Emphasis is laid on Extra-curricular activities, like Band, Music, Computer Programming, Debates, Dramatics and N.C.C. Which enable the pupils to enhance their knowledge and display their latent potentials.
Students from standards 1 to 10 are divided into four Houses, namely D'Mello, Satur, Webb and Stagg. The House Colours are Green, Yellow, Red and Blue respectively
